Who are the Route 26 Cruisers?

  • Our club was established in 1997 in the town of Sandy by a handful of car nuts... who wanted to use their hobby to have fun, serve the community and encourage young people in automotive programs.
  • We’ve outgrown our original meeting place at Shorty’s Corner. Our 70+ members meet 7 PM the first Tuesday of each month, at the Clackamas County Bank in Sandy. All are welcome to come and attend a meeting and meet us.
  • We hit a local attraction or burger joint by having informal mini– cruises on Friday nights during the summer months.
  • High School kids are the future of our hobby! We partnered with PGE to provide two computer systems & printers to the Sandy HS automotive shop program. We also have a fund for the high school automotive program which awards scholarships to high school students that are going on to more education in the automotive industry.
  • All year long we collect food for the local food bank, and purchase holiday gifts for teens to help with the Kiwanis' Christmas basket program. We also host a week-long cruise, called Cruise Oregon, which to date has traveled around Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, and Canada. Along the way, we raise money to support the various charities the Route 26'ers support.
  • We foster a healthy rivalry between the Ford and Chevy guys…but most of all… we like to have FUN!!!
